First day of Tuts
The activity today was drawing on a A0 piece of paper the biggest thing Ive ever worked on, of which I will have to do more of because it really gave me space to experiment. I used 9b, 6b graphite pencils and a rubber to draw. The main process was about the constant evolvement of the work constantly changing the image even if we liked what we had creating this constant creativity sometimes in the wrong direction but would always lead to a new Idea found. This also lead me to throw my self at the page with the pencil and rubber changing the marks patterns and shapes as I went. To add another match to the creative flame we were told to draw on each others work which aloud me to absorb some more ideas. The picture I was told to draw on was really detailed with recognizable structures appearing but was lacking the darkness that we were encouraged to create so I went about creating a mass of heavy swirls and blurring with the rubber (a technique I’ve never used before but definitely use again) I was told after would that by me intruding on her drawing it really freed her up and let her almost be more experimental and not think of the consequences.
Over all the day was a very positive creative experience a very good thing to use if I am struggling for ideas because the pencil (and rubber) will create things from my brain that I may not usually see or find.
