This afternoon i thought i would take a brake from computers and decided to do a large drawing of a hand with heavy percpective on brown paper. The process of drawing makes me look closer at what I'm drawing and really take in what I'm looking at. And it's always good to change the media for a bit to get anther view on the subject/object.
Like my computer created art i like to distort the form of the drawing. I think this is a defiant influence from computer art. In the process of doing this there is that sense of letting go of control, after trying to copy a photo doing something more expressive was very freeing.
I'm choosing to start this project with hands because i find them one of the most interesting parts of our anatomy. the surface each unique to the person a raw source of identity and each crease and in my case scars. we use our hands countless times in a day typing, opening doors, drawing, communicating. this interaction is something i want explore through the structure of the hand.
