Crit went well although I was at the end so
no questions or anything was asked which was a bit rubbish realized ive been
doing the same thing all this time looking at the procces of movement through
triangles and started to miss making sculpture.

drawing programs
These triangle programs are kind of like
drawing programs a simple movement and you have something that hasn’t been
created before and then from the position another reaction happens with the
form this final one this one lets everything be overlapped creating a complex
abstract but structured pattern I’ve also tried to add a drip to experiment
with my drawings.

interactive triangles
The next two are interactive with the mouse
as the mouse move it spreads out a triangle and leaves 40 frames behind the animation in and out can of some
interesting patterns (find my self playing for ages) ive added another black
copy but slightly different reaction to the mouse to create a sort of shadow. i
can see this as a piece on a wall in a gallery but instead of the mouse maybe
as people walk past it reacts to the movement they have taken or sound it
reacts to the tempo or pitch. The animation of the triangles I have tried to
make it flow well as I think the movement of this piece is what I am interested
in Sharpe but with a softness something to look at.

Tom Friedman
Laurence suggested i look at Tom Friedman. i want to look at the piece untitled , toothpicks from 1985. Friedman takes simple objects like plastic cups, chewing gum or tooth picks and by repeating and adding quantity is left with these eye catching forms. he pushes and experiments with the every day materials to create a thing of beauty out of something most people have no desire for. this toothpic peace looks like an explosion , there is a great sense of movement creating a 3-d blur effect this is enhanced by the shadows as its darkened to the center creates an illusion of acceleration
i have mimicked this repetitive blurring technique in my recent triangle piece and let the computer create 2-d forms much like this by layering but making sure the points are 3pixlies apart it does look extremely similar to this piece.

trinangles proccesing 1
This is a simple code but I like the effect
its made by telling the computer to move each point any random position within
a 3 pixel radius it draws a new triangle frame by frame. Ive added some
transparency to increase this sense of depth here are some stills where I have
left it to build for 5mins or so.
I need to figure out a way to export these
images in high quality and print some out.

life drawing perception
2 life drawings one top before Christmas and second after these 2 drawings i think are my best yet really enjoyed the perception pose and feel i managed to catch a really good likeness to the models. the way we had to grid and really work hard to get it looking right i think is why i found these drawings enjoyable because of the challenge i pushed my self further.

zbrush again
Finally getting to grips with sculpting in
zbrush creating a computer generated form I can manipulate it much easier but
it does loose that real feel maybe over time I can make it more real but I
think its time to move onto the next thing.
(more to come)

intro to zbrush
Ive been trying to learn some basics in
zbrush a 3-d sculpting program… and well Ive crashed my mac 5 times so saving
is essential... but so much possibility's if i can get to grips with it

shoe
Trying to apply the 3-d paper sculpture I
made to my shoe on Photoshop.
Started to manipulate and escape reality by changing form. I want to
complete the look by adding blur were the lens has blurred to create the
illusion of reality. I can see it animating and unfolding to reveal my sock which
then distorts the same way to reveal my foot. Not sure how I would make this
though. It then could lead onto entire figure being undraped through the layers
of clothing. I think stop motion wouldn’t work as im trying to make ridged
tetrahedrons out of cloth be formed and then peel I just don’t see it working
as well as I like that way. So im going to look into 3-d animation.
